Meet our facilitators

We are honoured and grateful to have Carol Willing and Dawn Wages share their extensive knowledge with us.

Carol Willing is a distinguished open source developer, educator, and community leader known for her impactful contributions to the Python ecosystem and scientific computing. She is a Python Software Foundation Fellow and former PSF Board Member, and has served as a Project Jupyter Steering Council member, helping to advance open, interactive computing tools used by researchers and educators worldwide. Carol has been deeply involved in initiatives that support diversity and inclusion within tech communities and has mentored countless contributors through projects like Google Summer of Code. Her work spans education, accessibility, and community building, embodying her commitment to empowering others through open source.

Dawn Wages is a passionate developer relations manager, community organizer, and advocate for diversity and inclusion within the tech industry. With a background in Python and Django development, Dawn is committed to building accessible, scalable software while empowering underrepresented voices in open source. She is actively involved with DjangoCon US & Africa, PyLadies, and the Python Software Foundation, where she has worked to create welcoming spaces for contributors at all levels. Dawn frequently speaks at conferences, sharing insights on sustainable open source practices and community building, and is known for her dedication to mentoring and supporting new contributors in tech.
