PyLadiesCon 2026: A Special Edition

PyLadiesCon is back, and this one is a little different.

December 5–7, 2026. 100% online, on Discord. Free, as always.

What’s different this year

For the last three years, PyLadiesCon has been organized as a conference of talks, panels, and keynotes. Each year, we hosted approximately 6 keynotes, 30+ speakers, 4-6 panel sessions, and various workshops.

This year’s edition is built around knowledge transfer rather than talks and keynotes. Our program will consist of:

• Workshops: hands-on sessions where you get to learn and build a thing.
• Sprints: self-organized activities from the community.
• Open Spaces: meet people that share some interests with you to discuss during the event.
• Panels: conversations between community members and leaders about topics affecting our global community.
• PyJam: A showcase of performances from our community members.

Why we made this change

There are various reasons that led us to this decision. We will be publishing a more thorough retrospective about all of the contributing factors, however we wanted to reassure our community that we did not make this decision lightly. Each of the PyLadiesCon core team members took everything into consideration in deciding on this year’s format.

This does not mean that PyLadiesCon will forever change into this format. This simply means we are always trying to find the best ways to serve our community. We have done the same similar format for three years in a row. This change gives us the opportunity to serve our community in a slightly different way, but not a drastic change.

Who this is for

PyLadiesCon has always been open to anyone who supports our mission, regardless of their gender identity, and whether or not there’s a PyLadies chapter in your city. Over the past few years, we’ve heard from people in other underrepresented groups in tech who want to be part of it. You’re welcome here. This edition is designed with you in mind too.

What’s next

Mark your calendar: December 5–7, 2026, online. Add it now, while you’re thinking about it, and then tell the people you’d want to be there with you: your local PyLadies chapter, your team, the friend who has been meaning to get into Python. It’s free and it’s fully online, so the only thing anyone needs is the date.
